Real-time data for APM Terminals Aarhus now available via API feed
APM Terminals launched its API store in 2020 and has continued to increase the number of terminals offering real-time data via API feed. APM Terminals Aarhus is the latest terminal to provide container and vessel tracking via API.
Meeting customer’s expectations for fast and reliable delivery in today’s challenging logistics industry, while keeping costs low, requires constant innovation. “Reliable, real-time data is the key to meeting all of these requirements,” shares Helle Almind, Commercial Manager for APM Terminals Nordics.
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. APM Terminals’ innovative, industry-leading APIs enable customers to pull real-time container status data from its Terminal Operating Systems, into their own internal systems, such as a Logistics or Transport Management System (TMS).
Improved planning, time saving and cost reduction
This removes the need to look up information manually via APM Terminals’ existing Track & Trace channels, making this the ideal solution for shipping lines, inland transporters, cargo owners and managers, as well as data aggregators who process higher volumes.
Removing the need for manual intervention not only saves man hours and speeds up the process, but also increases accuracy. “Most importantly, access to the latest data available in the supply chain, improves planning and helps meet customer expectations,” says Helle.
APM Terminals Aarhus offers APIs for Vessel Schedules, Terminal Vessel Schedule, Import Availability, Export Booking Enquiries, Empty Container Returns and Container Event History. Data for 25 of the company’s terminals is currently available, with further coverage expected this year.
